Department update, county property, jail project among commission agenda items

A department update, county property, and the jail project are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

Commissioners are scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash. The meeting is scheduled to be televised by Salina Media Connection. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

Michelle Barkley, emergency management director, is scheduled to provide an update of her department.

Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to consider requests from the Expo Center, the Road and Bridge Department, and Department of Senior Services, to have some property declared to be of no value. The Expo Center and the Road and Bridge Department also want authorization to sell the items, while senior services seeks authorization to donate its item to a non-profit organization.

Commissioners also are scheduled to consider approving an agreement between Saline County and TreanorHL for architect and engineering services for the Saline County Jail Project.

Once the meeting is concluded, the commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session in room 107B of the City-County Building. The agenda for the study session is as follows.

  • Executive session: attorney-client privilege (30 minutes)
  • County administrator’s weekly update, Hannah Stambaugh, interim county administrator (30 minutes)
