A Hays woman was cited for following too closely after a three-vehicle injury accident on Friday in central Salina.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Monday that officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Crawford Street at 5 p.m. Friday for the report of a three-vehicle accident. All three vehicles were westbound, he added.
According to Forrester, a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Jennifer Bates, 40, of Hays, ran into the back of a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Austin Calhoun, 26, of Salina. The impact of the collision sent the Monte Carlo into the back of a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Jorge Torres, 42, of Culver, Forrester said. Both the Monte Carlo and the Camry were stopped in the outside westbound lane because of construction work on West Crawford Street, he added.
Torres was transported by Salina EMS to Salina Regional Health Center with neck and head pain, Forrester said.
Both the Traverse and the Monte Carlo had to be towed from the scene, he said.
Bates was cited for following too closely, Forrester said.
