The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of more than $19,000 worth of items from a vacant residence south of Salina.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said Monday that sometime between Tuesday and Sunday, someone stole a 12-foot by 6-foot box trailer valued at $1,600 from a property in the 4700 block of South Old Highway 81. Inside the trailer were a 60-inch Hustler Hyperdrive zero-turn mower, valued at $17,000, and $500 worth of battery-operated Milwaukee hand tools, Soldan said.

The trailer, mower, and tools belonged to Richard Commerford, 53, of Salina, who was storing them at the property, Soldan said.
