Saline County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Webster Conference Center north of Salina early Sunday morning for the report of shots fired.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said Monday that deputies were called to the conference center, 2601 North Ohio Street, at 1:31 a.m. Sunday. He explained that the conference center had been rented for a large gathering of college-age people and that shortly before deputies were dispatched, a fight broke out among some of the participants.

Reports indicated that three shots had been fired on the patio area in front of the main building, and three 9mm casings were located there, Soldan said. No one could tell authorities who fired the shots, he added.

No one was injured and there was no damage to the conference center property, Soldan said.
