Bridge repair project in Ottawa County suspended over the winter months

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has suspended construction activity until March 2020 on the bridge located on U.S. 81 over the Kyle Railroad near Minneapolis.

Traffic will remain on the current highway alignment during the winter months. The temporary detours will open next spring and work will resume.

A.M. Cohron of Atlantic, Iowa, is the prime contractor on the $4.2 million project and has scheduled this project to now be completed by November 2020, weather permitting.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone.  To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
