While the fire danger remains high for our area, it isn’t has high as earlier forecast.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Saline, McPherson, and Lincoln counties have a high fire danger, while Ellsworth County remains in the very high fire danger category.

Dry and breezy conditions will lead to elevated fire weather concerns this afternoon, especially over portions of central Kansas. Be mindful of outdoor burning and anything that can cause sparks, NWS noted.
