Police investigating damage to property in north Salina

Police are investigating a damage to property incident that occurred in north Salina earlier in the week.

Sometime between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, someone damaged vehicles and a plate glass window at BJ Koetting, LLC, 1400 East Woodland Avenue, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Friday.

An employee of the company arrived at work at 9 a.m. Thursday to find the passenger window shattered on a 1987 Volvo heavy truck, Forrester said. A large plate glass window on the south side of the building also was broken, he added.

Additionally, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado belonging to Albino Cervantes, 46, of Salina, had several indentions the size of BBs on the passenger door, Forrester said.

Total damage was estimated at $1,000, he said.

A witness observed two adults directly across the street firing a BB gun, Forrester said.
