Charles Gary Rolph

Charles Gary Rolph, loving husband, father, and grandfather died on November 7, 2019, at the Ottawa County Health Center. His life was full of family and colorful friends.

Gary was born in 1939 to Paul and Fern Rolph at the family farm outside of Delphos, Kansas joining older siblings Patricia and William.  Gary married Blanche Lyne on Valentine’s Day in 1960.  Daughter Elizabeth and sons Charles and George followed in subsequent years.  Gary’s most beloved role was that of grandfather to Laurel, Eric, Zachery, Paula, Kaylee, Olivia, Gabriel, and Georgia and great-grandfather to Kinsley, Natalie, Charlie, Easton, Colin, and Colt.    

Gary worked on the family farm as well as at El Dorado National until his retirement in 2004.  He treasured the friendships he built with his co-workers in the weld shop. 

Gary is survived by his wife, Blanche, of Minneapolis, Kansas; daughter, Elizabeth of Minneapolis; son, Charles and his wife, Annette of Dewey, Oklahoma; and son, George and his wife, Eileen of Delphos; grandchildren, Laurel Klein Searles and her husband, Clay; Eric Klein and his wife, Stacy; Zachery Rolph and his wife, Michaela; Kaylee Rolph; Paula, Olivia, and Georgia Rolph; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Natalie, and Colin Searles, and Charlie, Easton, and Colt Klein.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Fern Rolph; siblings, Patricia Brown and William Rolph; and grandson, Gabriel Rolph.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, November 10 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.  A celebration of Gary’s life will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Hammer Cemetery, rural Lincoln County.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jo Nana Lunches and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.  Make checks payable to U.S.D. 239 at in the memo include Jo Nana Lunches/Gary Rolph.
