Dale Leon Shepherd, 83, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 in Ellsworth. He was born in Marshall County, Kansas to John Shepherd and Ethel Margaret (Dexter) Shepherd.

Dale graduated from Emporia State University and worked as an accountant for the Bendix Corporation, Kansas City, MO, FarMarCo in Hutchinson, KS and retired in 2000 from Cashco, Inc. as Controller. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

Dale is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret P. Shepherd; daughters, Karen Elaine Morgan and Laura Eileen Eggenberger (Brian); son, Steven Leon Shepherd (Lynette); grandchildren, Alan Michael Rump, Caitlyn Anne Duque (John), Molly Elizabeth Morgan, Sophie Lyn Shepherd, and Alex Leon Shepherd; great grandchild, Wrigley Jay Duque; nephews, Gerald Rutti (Lyda) and John Shepherd (Kelly); and nieces, Margaret Ann Friedrichs (Steve) and Joni Spellmeier (Chris). Dale was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Shepherd; grandson, Jason Heath Rump; sister, Marjorie Elaine Rutti; brother-in-law, Milan Rutti; brother, Leland Wayne Shepherd; sister-in-law, Velda Shepherd; and nephew, Donald Wayne Rutti.

Memorial mass: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Ellsworth with inurnment following in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery.
