A Salina man was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after the bike he was riding was struck in the back by a pickup.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said 61-year-old Richard Donley was westbound on his bike on Country Club Road near Donmeyer Road, when his bike was hit in the back by a pickup driven by 85-year-old Milfred Landauer of Salina.

Donley was taken to Salina Regional Health Center complaining of leg and rib pain.

Landauer was cited for improper passing.

The accident happened at about 12:35 p.m.
