
UPDATE: Salina Fire Marshall Roger Williams tells the Salina Post that no one was hurt in a house fire at an east Salina duplex Sunday morning.
Williams said that the fire, which started just after 7:00 a.m., caused extensive damage to one side of a duplex located at 734 and 736 Manchester Road.
“The 734 side will need extensive interior remodeling”, Williams said. He added that the 736 side only suffered some minor smoke damage.
One tenant was not home at the time of the fire, the other was able to escape without injury.
Williams said the cause of the fire was not able to be determined.

Firefighters were on the scene of a house fire early Sunday morning.
Shortly after 7:00 a.m., crews were sent to a duplex in the 700 block of Manchester Road and found a working fire in the front of a residence. The fire was quickly contained and there were no injuries.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
Police and fire officials have shut down traffic near the residence.
