Salina Police are investigating an incident early Sunday morning where several shots were fired in a west-central Salina neighborhood.

Officers were sent to the 1600 block of Elgin just before 2a.m. when they were called about residents hearing gun shots.

Officers did find five shell casings in the street.

Captain Mike Sweeney said because of the ongoing investigation, he would not release the caliber of weapon that was believed to have been used.
