KENNY CHESNEY: Country on Today

Kenny Chesney, The Band Perry and Zac Brown Band will take part in the Today show’s summer concert series on NBC. According to Today’s website, The Band Perry kicks things off on June 1st, with Kenny following on June 22nd. Zac Brown Band takes the stage on July 13th.

Other artists performing in the series include Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, Hot Chelle Rae and Train. Additional acts will be announced throughout the season.

ALAN JACKSON: Hair-Raising Good!

Alan Jackson has won dozens of songwriting awards, so why did he decide to record “So You Don’t Have to Love Me,” which was written by someone else? Alan tells us, “It raised the hair on my arms when I heard it.” He also says it reminds him why he got into country music.

Alan’s nephew Adam Wright wrote “So You Don’t Have to Love Me.”

TRACE ADKINS: Music for Remembrance

Trace Adkins will take part in PBS’s National Memorial Day Concert on May 27th. The show will air live from the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol and will be hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise. Other celebrities participating include Daughtry, Natalie Cole and General Colin Powell.

MIRANDA LAMBERT: Paws on the Calendar

Miranda Lambert’s Cause for the Paws concert benefiting her MuttNation Foundation has been scheduled for June 22nd at Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas. Joining Miranda for the event is labelmate Wade Bowen and The Josh Abbott Band. Part of the money raised will go to the Red Star Emergency Relief Service, which assists animals displaced by disasters and retrains military service dogs to assist wounded warriors. Tickets go on sale April 27th through Ticketmaster.
