A 43-year-old Hutchinson man was jailed Friday on two charges associated with the download and distribution of child pornography.
Wayne Allen Pendarvis of 110 West 36th, faces two potential charges of sexual exploitation of a child under the age of 18, one for being in possession of the images, and the other for allegedly distributing the pictures.
According to Hutchinson Police Detective Scott Carlton, the Exploited and Missing Child Unit of the Wichita Police Department received a partial download allegedly from Pendarvis and that led to a joint investigation.
A search warrant was served on his home shortly after.
During the search, they seized the computer belonging to Pendarvis and allegedly there were more images of children on his computer.
According to Detective Carlton, Pendarvis had been employed at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, but is apparently no longer employed there.
His bond was set at $20,000 and he was able to post it and is currently free. He is expected to be in court sometime late next week.
