July 4th has come and gone, this year the Salina Fire Department responded to 35 fireworks related incidents within the city limits.

The following is a break down in the number of responses, starting from June 27th (when fireworks could be sold) to July 5th. To date there were also 2 reported fireworks related injuries.

The primary responses this year were for grass / brush fires, the
responses were much greater this year compared to 2011. In 2011 the
department responded to 11 incidents during the same dates.
