Gordon T. Kasparson, 79, of Salina, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at his home. He was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Galesburg, Ill., to Mauritz A. and Mary Elizabeth (Gordon) Kasparson. In 1950, he graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Mo. He graduated from the University of Missouri and served in the U.S. Navy. On Sept. 13, 1959, he married Joyce Ann Hillery, at Warsaw, Mo. For many years, he operated the Greater Kansas Wholesale Florist in Abilene.
He was a University of Missouri alumnus, member of the Kiwanis clubs in both Salina and Abilene, was a Master Gardener in Salina, and was a co-owner of the Kansas Cagerz semiprofessional basketball team. He enjoyed traveling and dining out with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a brother, Richard Kasparson; and an infant sister, Ruth.
He is survived by a daughter, Marcia Schroeder and husband Randy, of Trenton, Mo.: three granddaughters, Sarah, Becky and Allison Schroeder, of Trenton, Mo.; three nieces, Julie Lindsey, of Lawson, Mo., Kris Page, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Laura Rosson, of Trenton, Mo.; a nephew, James Kasparson, of Colorado; a sister-in-law, Marian Kasparson, of Trenton, Mo.; and a special friend, Connie Achterberg, of Salina.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Following the services there will be a reception at Residence 600, 600 E. Elm, Salina. The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice.

John T. Millikin, 60, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012. He was born July 25, 1951, in Salina, the son of Thomas and Mary Jean (Kline) Millikin.
John enlisted in the United States Navy and later retired in 1991. He worked as a CPA for Clubine & Rettele in Salina.
John was preceded in death by his father, Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jean, of Salina; two sisters, Judy Labbe and husband Ron Werth, of Salina, Joan Justice and husband Jess, of Salina; two nieces, Jenna Viscomi, of Lawrence, and Beth Labbe, of Salina; great-nephew, Jake Viscomi, of Lawrence, and great-niece, Ryan Viscomi, of Lawrence.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Ryan Mortuary. Inurnment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.
Memorial contributions may be given to Ambucs or United Way and left in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
